    A Year of Generous Support

    Over the past year, ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï alumni and friends gave generously in many ways, supporting student success with scholarships, new and upgraded facilities, state-of-the-art musical instruments, and diversity, equity and inclusion training and support. Overall, ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï received more than $8.5 million in philanthropic support with 6,386 gifts for the 2021 calendar year.

    On Dec. 21, Gov. Jared Polis announced the appointment of ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï alumna Annette Martinez to ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï’s Board of Trustees. Her four-year term is pending confirmation by the Colorado General Assembly.

    2021 Year in Review

    The past year has been a cautious reemergence into a world still churning from the effects of a pandemic. Despite the uncertainty and changes of living with COVID-19, our university community continued to rise to the challenge in 2021, including successfully navigating a full return to in-person learning and events this past fall.

    The ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï will hold its fall commencement ceremonies on Friday, Dec. 10, and Saturday, Dec. 11. Approximately 903 students will graduate this fall with around 554 earning a bachelor's degree and around 349 earning a master's, specialist or doctoral degree.

    Two ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï students pick up their violin bows and practice fast passages and rhythms whenever they can. But playing an instrument isn’t the only intense activity taking up their spare time. Alongside playing beautiful, eloquent and moving music, Taber Land and Katherine Muser also help battle raging fires that span hundreds of acres at a time.

    Most years, the ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï Combined Chorus gives ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï choral students an opportunity to perform at the Union Colony Civic Center in Greeley with the Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra (GPO). That tradition has been on hold due to the pandemic, but this year it’s coming back with a heartfelt flourish.
