Professor Offers Individual Lessons in Park

The year 2020 has been marked by a number of unprecedented events taking shape around the world. Since March, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact many areas of society including higher education. Despite the impacts, ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï’s campus community members continued to work on research, scholarship and creative works; strategic planning; academic programming; community, alumni and donor engagement; diversity, equity and inclusion; and athletics.

This pledge is the largest gift received by ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï in 2020.

Dr. Lyda McCartin, the interim director of the Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL) at ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï, discusses revitalization strategies for the center over the next three years as well as what it offers ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï instructors of all levels to enhance their teaching methods.

Leaders have a great impact on the tone, culture, goals and vision of an organization. For each of the colleges and academic areas at ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï, the top leader is the dean, reporting to Provost Mark Anderson. Amid 2020’s uncertainty, three new deans joined the ranks at ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï

The ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï will celebrate its spring, summer and fall 2020 graduates virtually this December in accordance with public-health guidelines that limit in-person gatherings due to COVID-19.

The Active Schools Institute at the ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï has received two grants totaling $125,000 from the Colorado Department of Education (CDE) to improve the quality of physical education and physical activity opportunities for K-12 students in Colorado.

Karen Barton, Ph.D., a professor of Geography in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at the ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï, has been chosen as the 2021 Winchester Distinguished Scholar by ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï's Faculty Research and Publications Board.

The ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï has initiated its own Free App Days where anyone, anywhere in the world can apply as an undergraduate to ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï without paying the $50 application fee.
