Biography

Carrie Woodruff is a Credentialed Supervision Leader and seasoned professional in the field of ASL-English interpreting, with over two decades of experience in educational interpreting.  She currently serves as the DOC Intake Advisor in the ASL-English Interpretation BA program at ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï, where she works closely with applicants to assess readiness and support professional growth in alignment with program standards.

In addition to her work at ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï, Carrie is the Educational Interpreter Coordinator for Colorado Springs School District 11. In this role, she coordinates a team of educational interpreters in Colorado Springs School District 11, ensuring high-quality interpreting services and professional growth. Carrie is deeply committed to reflective practice and ethical decision-making in the interpreting profession. As a Credentialed Supervision Leader through the Interpreting Institute for Reflection-in-Action and Supervision (IIRAS), she facilitates supervision grounded in the Demand-Control Schema (DC-S), a framework she also helped develop curriculum around at ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï. Her supervision practice encourages interpreters to examine the complexity of their work and to grow through critical reflection and peer dialogue.

Her academic background includes a BA in ASL-English Interpretation from ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï, an Educational Interpreter Certificate from Front Range Community College, and she is currently completing an MA in Intercultural Studies with a concentration in Peace and Conflict Transformation at Biola University. Carrie also holds a Leadership & Supervision Certificate from ÿÈÕ´ó¹Ï, further supporting her commitment to ethical leadership and mentorship in the field.

Throughout her career, Carrie has served in a variety of roles, including adjunct instructor, administrative coordinator, and project leader on national interpreter education initiatives. She brings a unique blend of practical experience, instructional expertise, and a passion for fostering community and accountability among interpreting professionals.
